The Girls to Women Project (http://www.girlstowomen.org), the only girl-centered youth development organization in the East Palo Alto community, is challenged to raise at least $4000 from 50 different people by July 1 to win a permanent place on www.globalgiving.org, which allows people anywhere to donate to them.
 
To donate, click http://www.GlobalGiving.com/2940.  You can give as little as $10 or as much as...? you decide.  They really need the money now to keep the program going during this very rough time for non-profits.  Please donate now - we are wanting to get the energy moving for them to succeed!
 
A friend of mine attended their end of year academic celebration.  It was wonderful, uplifting; the kind of gathering that makes me proud of supporting great work.  You can see pictures of the girls at http://girlstowomen.org/gallery.html  Programs like this make a difference;they provide the kind of life support that they get nowhere else.
 
Please DONATE something now - they need 50 separate donors to qualify for this place.  And, please pass this to people who would want to know about it.  It's a small gesture that can make a difference.

The project is called "Academic Support and Mentoring for Underserved Girls".  Homework support is an important part of the many activities provided for the girls.
