The Beatitudes Society develops and sustains emerging Christian leaders at seminaries and divinity schools as they build a progressive network for justice, compassion and peace as expressed in the Beatitudes.

Why is it that [The Beatitudes] are so revolutionary that they actually cause the world to be turned upside down - and that those who espouse them as principles for daily living... are made to suffer persecution for daring to suggest that they are true?

The Rt. Rev. James A. Kelsey.

Seth Bledsoe

2007-2008 Convener, The Divinity School at Wake Forest

I am a second-year divinity school student at The Divinity School at Wake Forest University. I have aspirations of becoming a professor. I feel that God has called me to a life of ministry and the vocation in which I am to fulfill that call is in academia. I hope to get my PhD in Hebrew Bible with an emphasis on Ancient Near Eastern History and Languages. I joined the Beatitudes Society this past year because I felt the thing that I was missing the most while I was here in divinity school was real, tangible ministry.
